Library Language Outreach Program
The Deception Bay Library Language Outreach Program (LLOP) provides early childhood language and literacy programs to families who may not otherwise access libraries. The LLOP team aspire to provide all children in Deception Bay with an equal chance to become a confident learner and be a successful student when they reach school. To achieve this, LLOP provides an early literacy pack to community agencies for distributions to all families in Deception Bay. People in the community are trained to provide assistance to families for developing skills to read with their children. Library Outreach Loan Boxes are placed in community venues, such as Playgroups, Child Health and Community Centres. The loan boxes are an effective way to extend the library's resources to less confident library users and improve access to library programs such as Storytime or Rhymetime.
